K Czap

K Czap (pronounced “chap”) makes comics about friendship, community, & transcendence.

In 2022, Czap was nominated for the “Outstanding Artist” and “Outstanding Comic” Ignatz Awards for Four Years. They were the Cartooning Fellow at the Center for Cartoon Studies for the 2017/2018 academic year. They also currently work as a colorist for clients such as Scholastic, First Second, and Little, Brown and Company.

They began the micro-press Czap Books in 2011 (voted “Most Remarkable Micro-Press” in 2015), and co-publish the Ignatz-nominated series Ley Lines with Grindstone Comics since 2014. They received the CXC Emerging Talent Award in 2016 for their work and involvement in the comics community.

Besides comics, they love karaoke, the Washington Mystics, and Project Runway. They live in Rhode Island with their partner, Cathy G. Johnson. Czap is a member of Binch Press / QAW Collective.

Fütchi Perf is available now from Uncivilized Books.
